I received this announcement from AZTrail.org. Please help support the AZ Trail by writing to your State Senator or Representatives. A Sample Letter is included. This is bipartisan legislation.

Dear Friends of the Arizona Trail,
The bipartisan supported Arizona Trail bill (SB 1468
http://www.azleg.state.az.us) needs your assistance immediately. Will
you please take a minute and send a note to one or more state
legislator letting them know of your support for the Arizona Trail? The
Arizona Trail bill offers assistance that will allow for the continued
progress and success of the Arizona Trail. Final action by the Arizona
legislature is expected in the next couple of days.
Below is a sample letter/email that you might wish to send. A list of
the state legislators is available at http://www.azleg.state.az.us.
And please, if you are not a resident of Arizona, your input to the
Arizona legislature is valuable too.
Thanks
Dave Hicks

Sample Letter:
Dear Representative (Senator) :

I urge you to support SB 1468 The Arizona Trail bill. That bill
designates the 800 mile trail across Arizona from the Mexico border to
the Utah border as a state scenic trail. The trail has been built over
the past two decades with the commitment and sweat equity of thousands
of citizen volunteers, local communities, land managing agencies and
small and large businesses. In addition to formally recognizing the
Arizona Trail, the bill appropriates dollars for the completion,
long-term maintenance and operation of the trail. The funds are needed
to ensure this Arizona asset is completed and maintained for use by
state, national and international visitors.

Your support of the bill and the appropriation is greatly appreciated.
As your constituent and citizen of this great state I ask you to please
support SB 1468 as a legacy for our kids, their kids and future
generations of Arizonans.

Sincerely,

(Your name and address)
