Position Opening at VOAz!

VOAz has been selected to host a member of AmeriCorps starting this October. The position is for one and possibly two years. The individual selected for this position will support our volunteer leaders and the projects and events they manage. Our objective is to increase VOAz's effectiveness and our capacity to provide great outdoor volunteering opportunities. This individual will be a part of the Make A Difference AmeriCorps Team. The program provides an opportunity for individuals to serve their community and gain experience in the non-profit sector. Each member receives a stipend, educational assistance and other benefits.

Position Description: This position will focus on project support and program development. . The individual will learn the current project management process through a mentored experience as a project leader. The individual will then work with volunteer leaders as we implement new web based database and project management software. This will include training and revising project management guidelines. The individual will work with the VOAz Outreach Committee to devise and implement volunteer recruitment activities. The individual will assist with implementation of the Arizona Outdoor Volunteer Network, which will enable other agencies to use the VOAz web site to recruit volunteers for habitat and trail work projects. Computer literacy is essential. Knowledge of Photoshop, Excel, html, and web databases is desirable.
