Yep, I have a pair of those, they are GREAT for backpacking, light weight. They have the venting holes on the sides too, so you can walk in water protecting your feet (great bathing shoes). They are not something I would consider hiking in though, they are just great camp shoes after hiking all day. Great for getting up in the middle of the night too, easy slip on. I don't think they will hold up for very long, but neither do my hiking shoes. Mary

Yep, maybe not as useful in AZ as elsewhere, they're great for water crossings, especially in those icy mountain streams where you might not be able to feel that your feet have been cut to ribbons. As already noted, they're great camp shoes as well.
