fall colors

Has anyone been into the canyon when the fall colors peaking?? It looks like in Dec. but is it early or late??

Colors on the rims usually peak in mid october I think. I've been at indian gardens 1st week of december and they were a little past peak. I'm sure every year is a little different though.

Sorry didn't notice this was under the Havasu Canyon page, I was referencing my experience in the Grand Canyon, though I think they would be somewhat similar to that of Indian Gardens, so i would think Nov/Early Decemeber.

I've heard late Oct or early Nov. down in the canyon. Maybe if you call the tribe they'll know?

I was there for Thanksgiving a couple years ago and the colors were beautiful with the yellow leaves and the blue green waters. I was also there a couple weekends ago, but there were no signs of changing colors. Mary

I was there Tuesday 11/07 and a few trees were changing colors but the majority were still green.
