Snow in the White Mountains

Post by azbackpackr »

It snowed yesterday, and it's still all over everything. It was zero degrees on my front porch this morning! The roadways are pretty cleared up now, though. After work at 4 p.m. I'm going to go cross country skiing at Pole Knoll. The ranger told me that Green's Peak got about a foot, Baldy got about 6 inches.

I'll write it up later!

The snow is melting fast. If anyone is planning to come up this weekend you should call different places to see where it's deepest. Could be Pinetop got more than we did over here. And I heard they didn't get much at all in Flag. There is probably somewhere you can cross country ski, but not sure where. I skied for an hour or so yesterday at Pole Knoll, but it was shallow (see my write-up). So it's probably not skiable now.
