A fire started on Mt. Lemmon (22nd) and I imagine Coronado National Forest Folks will announce closures soon.

Hmmmm, I haven't heard of any fires currently on Mt. Lemmon or anywhere in the Santa Catalinas. There is a fairly large fire (The bullock fire @ over 3000 ac.) happening in Reddington Pass.

Is this the one about which you are referring?

I noted fire crews and was advised of a fire on Mt. Lemmon. They were heading up Mt. Lemmon ( the dirt road) from the Oracle side.

I guess we are talking about the same fire. On the news last night they mentioned that the Bullock fire was threatening Mt. Lemmon.

Like ck1 said, it is going to be a long summer.

Maybe I'll go to Silver City, NM for the Blues Festival. It is a little cooler there. Maybe.

I have my telescope set up and noted that I don't see much smoke this afternoon (5/31) though its still early (thermal lag). I hope they get it contained before it takes out Alder and Buehman Canyon.

Weather Channel site's forecasting scattered or isolated thunderstorms beginning Monday and every day through Friday throughtout the state; better bring some heavy rains with them or the whole state's likely to go up in flames.
