Havasupai Trail

Post by sjderis »

Looking to try and plan a hiking / camping trip to the falls in the canyon .. Never been and looking to see if anyone else is going to be down there in September...Any conditions I need to be aware of? Also, thinking of effective transportation, is there any bus up there...Just a thought...Probably not though...right?

Here is a link to the Supai's website. >> http://www.havasupaitribe.com/

Friend's Hiking Club is headed down for two nights - September 27-30. (27th is a drive day/camping near the trailhead; day 2-4 are camping in the canyon)
You might want to check out http://www.friendshiking.com.

"Effective transportation".... well, it's kinda in the boonies, but if you can't/don't drive or find a hiking partner who does, hitch-hiking is likely the best bet - at least the section north of I-40.

"Conditions"..... crowded but super-beautiful. I'd suggest at least two nights @ the CG to allow ample time to explore, etc. To lose the crowds, hike down stream to Beaver Falls - the lower section of Beaver especially. Theft in the CG has been rampant recently - especially @ night... Beware.
