The N.O.A.A. weather site is calling for chances of snow on Mt. Graham later this week :o

I for one, can't wait!

Last night had Freeze Warnings issued for the North Rim and Flagstaff areas, with 30 at Flag, and mid-to-upper 20s elsewhere above 7K. (Columbine was only down to 44 last night).

I slept with the windows open in Tempe for the first time in months (79 at 10pm, 65 at dawn) ... and that's always a welcome change. (PS. Thanks to Joe for the "1.6411 days to autumn" countdown on the home page!)

Heading up north this weekend too, I'll be happy to find some morning frost on the tent and ice in the water bowl.

I often watch for the first snow of the season (the one that only happens above 8-9K +, and only drops an inch or two and isn't reported anywhere) and skip work to get up north and take a short dayhike in that crisp, clean, morning air. Don't know who enjoys it more, my dog or me.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I didn't see it, but a reliable source (FS Fire Lookout) told me the San Francisco Peaks got a dusting of snow yesterday morning (9/23).
