PIR Trails?

I have a question. Are there trails in the small interconnected waterways under the bridge and across the road from Phoenix International Raceway?

When I drive to and from my daughter's home just south of the Estrellas, I always take Avondale Blvd. south to the PIR and follow the road west and back. Yesterday I was delivering the Christmas tamales and the birds were everywhere and again I wondered if there were public trails.

There are most often fishermen from the shores and sometimes in little boats.
