Reavis Falls - Conditions?

I would like to hike to Reavis falls next weekend and stay overnight (Feb 21). Is the unmarked trail to the falls clearly visable? I read that there were a couple of camping areas not to far from the falls. Are they still in good shape? If they are not, I would probaly cache the backpack for a quick trip to the falls and then proceed to Reavis ranch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm going to be doing the Falls this sunday. I'll give an update on the conditions of the trails and any camping sites we may encounter. I do suggest you download Kanode's GPS route of his hike to the Falls. Going in one way to the ranch from the Reavis TH is 9 miles one way. Doing the Falls on the way to the ranch would add about 6 miles to that, not to mention the 2000' climb out of the canyon, and the almost 2 miles RT bushwhack thru what should be a pretty full wash. After all that, you have 6 more miles to go get to the ranch. :stretch: GOOD LUCK!!

The unmarked trail down to the creek is very easy to follow. there was one spot early on after the crest at a tree where you had to search a bit. just go to the left of the tree and you'll pick it up. There was also one other spot where me and Dirt4dinner went down a drainage off the trail and quickly figured out we were in the wrong spot. For the most part, very easy to follow.

Once you're in the creek, just go upstream. the trail is kind of there, kind of not. Lots of creek crossings and rock hopping. Not too bad.

Further downstream there are some level places to camp for sure. Joe said at the falls off to the west up above the creek (to your right if you're looking at the falls) are some nice camping spots. I didnt feel like climbing up there to look since we already had a big climb out of the canyon ahead of us.
