Lost Camera - RV campground between Quartzsite & Blythe

Post by mindblender »

Hello,

I am posting this for a friend of a friend so I apologize for any discrepancies in the information. A camera was lost near an RV campground between Quartzsite and Blythe on I-10.

Here is the email I received with information about the location.
Here is the situation. I'll be as detailed as I can. My son's camera is just off exit 11 (I actually didn't remember the number but I zoomed in on another picture I had taken and could see the sign on the other side of the highway. It pays to be a shutterbug), south of east I-10. That is west of Quartzsite, East of Blythe, CA about 2 hrs from Phoenix, 1 1/2 an hr north of Yuma. The only thing on the exit is an RV campground. We exited the highway and turned right into the campground. It is gravel. We drove straight back several yards toward a "classic" looking Saguaro ahead on the right. We got out and took pictures. He put his camera down so it wouldn't be in the picture and left it. We took the pictures facing Northeast- back toward the highway. I attached the picture of where the camera is. If you zoom in, you can see it on to the right of the cactus and the left of the bush (which is about half the height of the cactus so it is big). I can send 2- 3 more pictures if it might help your friend figure out where to look. I don't think it will be difficult to find once someone is willing to go look. Please tell him I would be happy to reimburse shipping and even a couple bucks for gas if he can return it. If you need to give him my email or phone feel free.

--------
We had a family vacation last week and my 10 yr old left his camera in
Arizona. At first we didn't know where he left it it but thanks to the
pictures I took, we now know exactly were it is.

We stopped to look at a Saguaro Cactus and I snapped a random picture
of him walking away as we were getting in the car and the camera is on
the ground behind him. This camera contains all his pictures of his
first visit to California and Arizona- our first family vacation
where we were not staying with family or friends and it is so sad to
know where it is and be unable to just go get it. I am hoping one of
you might know someone in the area who might be willing to get the
camera for us and send it- we'd reimburse shipping of course.

This was a very untraveled area so there is a strong likelihood that
the camera is still there. If you might know someone who lives near
I-10 in southern Arizona/ far eastern California who might be willing
to help, please forward this email to them. I've contacted Craigslist
but I haven't gotten a response from the near by town's newspaper or
chamber of commerce. Thanks so much for reading.
Attached is the photo of the area where the camera was left, with the camera circled.

If anyone near that area could check it out for me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jeff
