Andrew Skurka Slideshow

Post by fairweather8588 »

Andy will be in AZ to give some slideshow presentations on his Great Western Loop. I had the pleasure (along with Mike) of meeting him along his 6,800 mile journey, and I'd recommend people try to attend one of his shows because he's a very knowledgeable man who loves what he does

Schedule is as follows:

Flagstaff, AZ | Wed, April 9, 7pm | Babbitt’s Backcountry

Grand Canyon Village, AZ | Fri, April 11, 7pm | Canyon Village Marketplace

Tucson, AZ | Sat, April 12, 9:30am | Summit Hut
No man should go through life without once experiencing healthy, even bored solitude in the wilderness, finding himself depending solely on himself and thereby learning his true and hidden strength

hey maybe he'll show some pics of the fine folks he met along the way. i know that was a major morale boost for him to be able to share his passion with others, hikers and non-hikers alike. the hour we spent chatting to Andy Skurka was an hour well spent.

I was very excited to sign below him on the Safford-Morenci TH register. After some lengthy detours, finishing a long second day in a dry, empty parking lot was a bit anticlimactic. Being prompted to see it as just one waypoint in a bigger journey came in handy. Besides resupplies, I would be most interested to hear how he planned on water sources.
