Trailhead access along the Beeline Highway
If any one has information on forestroad/trailhead access to Mormon Grove trailhead including forest road 25 and 201 and trail 244 and forest road 393. These trails and roads are located just north of Sunflower. With the new road alignment and no turn arounds along the segment, it has been difficult to locate the turnoffs, Iwould appreciate the information and if possible include mileposts.

Forest Roads 25, and 201
25 and 201 can be reached off the old portion of 87. You need to take the Sycamore Creek exit which is the first exit heading North on the new portion of 87. Just follow the exit West and it will eventually lead you to 201 / 25. 25 is in great shape this time of the year but 201, (Mount Pelley access road) is snow covered and slippery starting at Maple Draw. The signage is not in place for these forest roads but you can't miss them once your back on old 87. Have fun!

Yes, that's the road. It now ends at Forest road 201

Thanks Snick, I checked it out today (2/18) and located the forest service roads and trail access. The Mesa Ranger District advised me that I had to access from the old section of highway from Sunflower. During my last visit I utilized the interim edition (black and white) Tonto National Forest, which indicates only the old segment of AZ 87. The new color edition shows the correct access, however at the time of my visit on 2/18 the roads and trails are not marked. There is a trailhead access just north of the old DPS quarters north of the Sunflower Work Center. This trail will access Saddle Mtn.
