Re: ETrex Question/issue
Hasn't happened to me, could your USB power be flaky?

Re: ETrex Question/issue
Thats what I am thinking. I am going to check my drivers now. The gps unit seems to be working fine, so it must just be an issue with my pc

Re: ETrex Question/issue
Random tech advice: make sure your USB items are plugged in directly to your computer ... not your keyboard or monitor USB port. The direct connection gives the necessary power, while the "second-hand" connection often does not.

Re: ETrex Question/issue
I've seen this problem mentioned before on other boards, but now I can't find it. As I recall, it has something to do with a default powersaver setting.

Re: ETrex Question/issue
Take your batteries out and plug it in and try to turn it on, again. If it stays on that way take a look at your battery contacts and see if they are making good contact with your batteries and\or are clean and free of debris...

Re: ETrex Question/issue
Actually you can turn your GPS on with no batteries when it is plugged in via USB (at least I can with mine), if you can't do that it's probably your USB power.

Re: ETrex Question/issue
So I called tech support today and they told me it is probably the usb cord... So i tried a new cord and tried it on a different computer and still no power. Which makes me believe that it is an issue with the power hook up on the unit itself.
