AZ UFOs

Post by rushthezeppelin »

I'm really surprised there is not a topic somewhere on the site for this TBH. I have never personally seen anything that I couldn't discredit as a plane but it's always been a subject I've been very curious about. I have heard that AZ has a very high incidence of sightings, especially in smaller towns and out in the backcountry. Just curious if anybody on the site has seen anything that they thought would fall into the category....seems like there would be somebody.

All my enhancements are quite natural, thank you very much ...
Either way, its not relevant since I believe you are far too intelligent to qualify for their courtship pursuits anyway. :)

I'm not sure about the word "advanced." It could be used to describe a species that is able to adapt to a wide variety of environments (like humans....and roaches), or it could describe a species that has undergone significant evolutionary change from its distant ancestors.

Yes, I totally agree. That's kinda the point I was making.

If we are a one-in-a-billion species for this planet, then mathematics tells us that it is very likely that there are other species out there that are at least as adaptable (and able to create- and use technologies) as us.

I'm not as certain as you are on this point. But maybe you're right.

Even if the probabilities make it sound like a certainty, how do we know that the probabilities even apply? How difficult is it for natural selection to develop a creature with consciousness and self-awareness? It's one in a billion on Earth, but maybe Earth is a special case, such that it's really one in 42 bazillion gazillion overall. Why would Earth be a special case? I dunno. There's no way to know one way or another.

It seems relatively easy for Nature to come up with something like bacteria, or even a cockroach, given a few hundred million years. But a conscious, sentient being? Wow ... that's a whole different thing. I could be wrong. The universe could be a regular traffic jam of sentient aliens, for all I know. Jeez, they'd probably cut me off on the freeway, too.

The big problem with postulating about extraterrestrial life is that we have no other template to look through other than our own. You are correct in stating that we don't know if our earth is unique, or typical of other planets. Probabilities are nothing more than that: probabilities. You could take a die that has a million sides and know that there is a one in a million chance of rolling a 837,518. However, you could roll the die 3 times in a row and come up with any particular # all 3 times. The odds of that happening are beyond astronomical, but it is possible. That's how I look at the whole extraterrestrial thing. Then my head hurts, and I resume eating my breakfast burrito (Carolina's, if anyone wants to be jealous).

Trouts are the male equivalent of cougars. I.e. dorky old men who try to dress (as if anyone can dress "cool") and act cool in order to try to pick up babes. They usually end up being a source of amusement. A rainbow trout is the "alternative" version.
Bolt-ons are enhancements to a particular part of the female physique.
