Wet Beaver Creek Camping

My brother is coming to town next week and I have convinced him to do an overnight hike but he doesn't want to hike far (his words). I have decided to head down to Wet Beaver Creek and haven't been there before. Are there good spots for setting up a tent along the creek? What is the camping situation in the area. How far do we need to hike from the trailhead to find a decent spot. I have searched for some info but haven't been able to nail anything down.

My wife and I hiked in to the main 'swimin hole' area on a day trip. I believe it is 4 miles one way. Terrain is pretty even, not much elevation change. The trail seemed to get a little hard to follow once we reached the main area. It was pretty crowded because it was still warm. Most people were camped on the flat red rock areas along the creek. If its the same, don't expect any privacy, or peace and quiet. Lots of families and day partiers. If you are feeling more adventurous, you could travel farther up the creek and maybe find a quiet spot, but expect a little bushwacking and some wet feet.

If I remember correctly (it's been a while since I've been to Wet Beaver), camping would be better nearby at West Clear Creek Trail 17. I've hiked about 5 miles back on that trail and there was great campsites all along.

once you get to the main waterhole after 4 miles of easy trail, if you want to continue on you have to get in the water. this is a canyoneering trip requiring the appropriate gear. never did the trip going up stream., only going down stream, but i dont see any problems going upstream as long as the current is mellow. some big waterholes to swim and lots of rockhopping and wading .places along the creek for camping are confined and few.
