Need a little help finding these bodies of water.

I've got an assignment to photograph these bodies of water. I'm not quite sure what hikes these would be on.
I'm hoping you guys could offer a little help.

SWIMMING HOLES
12. “The Pools”
13. “The Box”
14. “The Crack”

Also East Chevelon Creek.

I found a chapter about East Chevelon Creek Trail in a book titled Streamside Trails: Dayhiking Central Arizona's Lakes, Rivers and Creeks, by Steve Krause, Pinyon Publishing Co., Tempe AZ, 1999, pages 84-85.

So it appears that the section called "East Chevelon" is in fact the section most accessible by visitors, as it leads off of Woods Canyon Lake on the Mogollon Rim. Hope this is helpful.

I may be going out to Pivot Rock Canyon on Friday. I saw it was number 9 on your list.

Bob, this is where I first heard about Pivot Rock canyon/creek about 8-9 years ago. http://www.arizonahikingtrails.com/hiki ... trock.html

it seems there are 2 cabins about 1.3 miles from the end of the road just beyond (the very pleasant and never occupied) Pivot Rock Campground. Keep in mind, we could essentially take this canyon all the way to Clover and on to WCC if you wanted to go in and check out the terrain - sort of a search and destroy mission, lemme know.
at any rate i'll be going into Maxwell end of next week to study some of the area inside Clover Canyon.

they say they made it 4 miles in, and returned. From my calcs... the hike would be 7 miles to Maxwell trail. If we stay there for the night, Calloway could easily be done and out w/ your shuttle truck. You in?

Chevelon is 13 miles of dirt road from near Heber. Chevelon is written up on here:

You can bushwhack in there and swim but there is no official trail. It is pretty much bushwhacking, and it ought to stay that way, IMO. I am not in favor of publicizing it, as it is not easy to get to, anyway, so why tell people from Phx to go there when there are so many closer places that are easier to get to, that have trails, and that already are well-known. Like, how about Fossil Creek? Lots closer to Phx than Chevelon.

I haven't been to this area...but the hike that is listed above by azbackpackr is shown to be a paved road:

There is a $5.00 per vehicle trailhead parking fee at Cochise Stronghold Campground.
Mapped directions to trail from: Phoenix • Tucson • Flagstaff • Showlow
Directions to trail: From the Valley head up to Payson on AZ87- turn right at 260 (Mcdonalds) and drive past Christopher Creek to the Woods Canyon Lake Turnoff. This is Rim Road 300. Follow 300 and the signs, then take FS169 which spurs off of 300. Continue on 169, past the FS119, past the 169B spur (which will take you to the Chevelon Lake Dam), and on to FS504. Turn right on 504 for 2 miles to the Chevelon Crossing Campground. There are vault toilets right in the campground where you can dispose of the Mcdonalds breakfast you ate in Payson before you hit the trail. : )

If this is incorrect, maybe someone can fix it?
