Has anyone tried "probar" meal replacement bars? Gossamer's web site endorses them pretty heavily
Here is the direct link to the manufacturer... http://theprobar.com/
I just ordered a small variety to see how they do.

Re: Probar review and feedback
these are the best energy bars out there. try the berry flavor or just get a variety sampler. fortunatly, the mom and pop health store by me carries them, but Hi-Health does not.
$3 each, worth every penny.
They also have at least 15 grains, nuts in every flavor. All organic.
lara bar has a few fans too.

I like Lara bars at half the price. They have one flavor though that is gross. I can't remember what it is but just think fruitcakete-wa wrote:lara bar has a few fans too.

I haven't tried the probar. I like the Lara bars. Those Pemmican bars are OK, but I can only eat one per trip.

Re: Probar review and feedback
Whoa - I'm looking at the nutritional info for the Probar Berry Bar. 31g of Sugar; 8g of protein. Why not just eat a Snickers Bar - it's 28g of sugar and 5g of protein. And the Berry Probar with 49g of Carbs with 31g of sugar and 6 of dietary fiber. Do you know what the other 12g is? Probably that weird poly alcohol stuff to keep these soft.
The Sesame Goji Bar looks ok with 18g of sugar and 12g of protein. I wonder how it tastes. The Cocoa Pistachio is about the same and sounds like it should taste good.
I think I'm just going to stick with the tried and true Breakfast Burrito.

"sugar" is a generic term. when you understand the differences between long chain glucose polymers and sucrose, you'll have your answer. ;)

Te-wa - You're right. But the About.com calorie count rates it a C http://caloriecount.about.com/calories- ... st-i131170 But I do see on the label that it has organic hemp seed in it. And organic epazote seed. So I'm willing to give it a try. I don't think I get any of that in my burrito. I wonder how many I would have to eat to mellow me out. Or cure my gaseousness.

I prefer those bars made by the good folks at the Ghirardelli company.

Re: Probar review and feedback
There's a bar I like made by a Canadian company. I think it's SoLo - a Low glycemic index energy bar used by a lot of the Canadian snowboarders. Whole (paycheck) Foods has carried it. So I stopped by WF. No SoLo but even better - also from Canada - Ruth's HempPower Energy Bar. I had the cranberry almond. I do feel like snowboarding now. But now I'm feeling a little drowsy and I've got the munchies.
