A hike at peppersauce
We recently went up to pepper sauce in Oracle, AZ to do some hiking around. One of the campsite attendants that ran the park mentioned he's seen about 8 mountain lion all different sizes. He also mentioned he's undergoing shots for his encounter with a rabid bobcat. If you decide to visit the campgrounds beware of rabid animals and if you see a cat stand tall and don't run.

I guess he can't get over that incident. It occurred in March of 2008. We learned all about it when we camped there in April, 2008. The guy is a little different... The mountain lions are new though.

In response to arizonaagent:
Did you go spelunking when you were there? The caves in Peppersauce are amazing!
Unfortunately there is some graffiti and litter because it is on private land. It amazes me that people can be so destructive, but yeah....if you haven't checked out the cave you should. I spent 4 hours exploring the inside and still didn't reach all the "rooms." If it wasn't for being wet and cold (I swam in the underground pond that was in the cave) then I would have stayed another 4 hours.

Well what would you call it? If it is not a "cave" then what is it?

It once was a cave. I'm not sure what to call it now.

Well In response to Jeff MacE:
Yeah. I am just sorry that I never got to see it untarnished by people. Seeing the absolute disrespect for nature made me want to do something to make a difference.....

Once or twice a year the caving club down here still goes in there and hauls about two huge Hefty bags worth of trash and debris out of there. Can you imagine?!FreespiritAZ wrote:Well In response to Jeff MacE:
