I was up camping over looking Chevelon Canyon and wondered if it was possible to hike the length of Chevelon Canyon. Looking into to I found Telephone Ridge Trail #203, so this is where to start. However I cannot find any hikes that run all the way to the end. Looking at the topos it looks like you could come out of the canyon in several places.
Any ideas?
Is is possible to hike Chevelon Canyon from top to bottom?

Re: Is is possible to hike Chevelon Canyon from top to bottom?
The A-SNF Website has a page dedicated to a hike in the canyon from Woods Canyon Lake to Chevelon Canyon Lake, listing it at 18-20 miles. There is no hike or trip logged on HAZ that covers the entirety of this route, though was a forum thread about it not long ago. There is a hike posted on HAZ for area of the canyon from the lake north to Chevelon Crossing... getting to "the bottom" of Chevelon Canyon from there is probably another 40-60 miles before it flattens out around I-40!

Re: Is is possible to hike Chevelon Canyon from top to bottom?
The canyon is said to be 40 miles long. It does pass through some private property in the lower section, also. There is that Rock Art Ranch where the owners used to run tours, for one. I have hiked only the section between the Crossing upstream to the dam. It does get rough in there. My son hiked an upper portion this summer, said it was very thick, brushy, wild, etc. So it is slow going, but definitely would be worth doing, I think. Not sure how you'd deal with the private property, though. Maybe get permission ahead of time?

Thanks! Sounds like some day hikes are in order to explore the different sections.
