I parked there several times during my AZT hike with no problems. From what I understand, they closed it originally to let the area rejuvenate after rampant OHV and camping use.

I have parked there for an overnighter with no issues.te-wa wrote:the Bushnell Tanks road to the t/h is closed, but i notice there is a stretch of road 100 yards or so long before the closed gate. is it ok to park along this stretch of road?
Mike, by changing the title of this thread, quite a few of the posts will appear confusing to those who come later... or were you just confused in the first place?

Re: Bushnell (sunflower) trail closed?
Okay now that makes more sense and yes that has been closed since about the willow fire year..... There is always 5-8 cars parked there on the weekends and sometimes a couple during the week and I believe they don't do anything to keep you from parking on the little road leading into the gate.... As long as the others can get out I have even seen them park in front of the gate itself.... and the DPS officers favorite spot to sit and shoot people with the radar is in the median right there.....

Busnell closed to vehicles though the rancher can still drive back in the area.
