For all you boarders and downhillers, Sunrise Ski Resort east of Pinetop, on the White Mtn. Apache Indian Reservation, reopens today with 5 to 5 and 1/2 feet of new snow. 928-735-7669 for more info.
For cheapest rentals I suggest you check out the Sweat Shop on Main St. in Eagar. They sometimes have discounted lift tickets as well. 928-333-2950.
Motels are generally cheaper in Eagar and Springerville, too. than in Pinetop.

Wow, this popped up in the "past" section of the forum board at the bottom of the home page. The OP gets me thinking.

Re: Sunrise Ski Resort reopens this morning!
A friend of mine, a very experienced skier, skied there on Friday. He had recently been both to Snowbowl and Ski Valley (Lemmon). He was extremely pleased with the runs, the condition of the snow, the amazing depth of the snow, and just everything in general.

I was thinking that 2006 was the last time there was a large March snow storm in Arizona. You know how I'm now obsessed with getting a big, heavy, wet snow in the next month. We need to resurrect the old ways. Just not from the 12th tot he 21st.
