Alaska Homesteader

For those of you that are home this holiday weekend, surf the net to osemountain.com and check out the pictures of my cousins homestead in the Alaskan bush. The only other way to see his home and activities are to fly in via his mountain top airport as depicted in the attached picture.

And yes that is a 44 revolver on his right hip!

That is pretty interesting about them being the last to receive land under the Homestead Act.

Well flying in isn't the ONLY way, if one is willing to endure a 30 day round trip epic hike that is!! Cool link, will take a bit to get through it all. Thank you!

Duane has added a lot of pictures and stories about his homesteading since I started this thread. Most interesting how the neighbors at Wein Lake and he arranged for that DC-6 load of supplies to land on Wein lake in March. 2,400 pounds of equipment including ATV's, lumber, food, etc. What a way to resupply....
