Which is better, orange marmalade, or whiskey?

I work all day Fridays too, so that won't work for me...I voted for the Wednesday but if it ends up happening on the weekend I won't be hurt.

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
I have this one on my list, but I don't like hiking in snow.
If I were to go, it would be on a Sunday (preferable) or Saturday (still doable).

There are just two switchbacks left. And another half-mile to the destination...

I assume Preston voted for Saturday, what are your thoughts on that day vs Wednesday, if any?

You assumed right Jim. I'm flexible though. I'll be going to Colorado at some point in June, not sure when yet. Whatever works for you guys, I'll try to make it.

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
OK, because I was thinking Jake and I could do a different peak on Wednesday if you were hard and fast for Saturday. It sounds like you are uncertain at this point and if that is the case, I should wait and see about your Saturday vote going through.

I also have always wanted to do this, not sure if I would make it to the top, but I sure would like to try. I am off in the summers so a weekday would be good for me if I can join in on the fun! I have plans on that weekend you picked to vote on. Thanks!

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
I am watching this thread, might go visit my daughter and join y'all--might even talk my daughter into hiking it, too! I will go with the flow, though, whatever date you decide. I will hold off on putting my name up, though. Which one is Jake? HippiePP?
I have hiked it a few times. Not my favorite hike at all--too crowded! However, I would like to meet the folks, get some exercise. Last time I did it must have been in 2006--right before my friend went to Kilimanjaro she talked me into hiking it with her.
You haven't ironed out the date yet, right?
Oliver 99 it is not too hard IF you have been doing some regular peak bagging all along. Or, if altitude bothers you. The vast differences in age and ability in this group may straggle the group out quite a bit along the trail, though!

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
People should vote unless they really don;t care. As it is, Wednesday is the most likely day at this point since it has the most votes. Mid-week will have fewer people on the trail, so it might be better that way.

Wednesday the 16th is looking to be the popular choice and will more than likely be hike day.

Funny, Humphrey was my first hiking experience with Wally, I could not even come close to keeping up.sarichter wrote:i wouldn't mind trying this again... i nearly passed out last time because i was trying to follow wally the cyborg.

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
Even if he did, I hike my own hike. THanks for the encouragement Elizabeth. I do hike a lot just need to get up higher in altitude, or attitude ;)
I will wait until it gets closer. Will there be carpooling? I might need a ride.

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
There are 4 votes for the 16th, is anyone who voted for that day going to commit, or are you just waiting to the last minute? I ask because if it is only interest, I might consider changing to Saturday or some other day if there is a preference for another day where there can be committed members.

I'll commit, I doubt anything will come up after my trip that would cause me not to be able to come.

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
It's been awhile since I've done this hike and I'm off work that Wednesday so it works for me. I could also go on Sunday if it should change days.

Re: Humphrey Summit via the trail
I honestly can't commit right now. Weekend is better, but I still won't commit now due to my very part-time job (they call me in when they feel like calling me in).

Two male nurses on the same hike. Guess I should be in good care if I break a leg...

If my wife could get off that would make 3 nurses. She's a hospice nurse so it opens up more possibilities depending on your injuries.
