Just happened across this article and thought I'd share it with the other techno-geeks here:

This will give some competition to another App I was investigating:

With the introduction of the Dell Streak, I've been thinking of ways to use the GPS functionality off-line and achieve the reality of combining several devices into one (especially since the Garmin phone isn't supported on my cell provider's network... :( ).

Now all I have to do is get the Streak and see how things work!
