Date: February 10, 2011

Grand Canyon, Ariz. – On Wednesday, February 9, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report of a separated party in the vicinity of the Yavapai Geology Museum. The reporting party stated that upon his return from the men's room, he could not locate his wife.
Almost an hour later, park rangers spotted a body, currently believed to be that of the missing woman, approximately 600 feet below the rim just east of the Geology Museum.
Due to waning light and quickly dropping temperatures, a decision was made to wait until this morning to send rangers in to recover the body. Rangers are hiking into the body at this time in order to document the scene and prepare the body for transport.
The body will be transported to the rim via helicopter where it will be met by the Coconino County Medical Examiner.
The National Park Service is conducting an investigation into the incident. No further information is available at this time.

Yeah, I bet the husband had to answer a lot of pointed questions. I wonder if we've heard the end of it.Alston Neal wrote:My thoughts exactly. Somethin ain't right.

Remember Bob Spangler? You can bet the Park does. Read about him in Death in Grand Canyon.

They don't need surveillance cameras, it was probably all captured in audio on somebody's cell phone.Alston Neal wrote:This is a perfect example of why we need surveilance cameras in bathrooms.big_load wrote:Yeah, I bet the husband had to answer a lot of pointed questions.
