Re: Ever see a $250,000 blanket?
Thats cool. Just think of all the old Navajo stories that have been told on that blanket. Way cool.

I took the road less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Very interesting. Those connections with the past are so intriguing.

Re: Ever see a $250,000 blanket?
Thanks folks.
I know many of you here enjoy the Native history of this state, so I thought I'd share something truly rare.
Even more rare than most prehistoric pottery.
These blankets were in so much demand from the Plains chiefs, military officers and others, that in the 1830's a Navajo wearing blanket sold for a $50 gold coin. Many of these are in museums, seen only by a few, so it's really cool to see one that's original and has been out of the public eye for all these years.
It's kinda like an archaeological find and now I get to document it.

And then what will happen to it? Think it will go on display somewhere? Or the story be written up?Alston Neal wrote:. . .It's kinda like an archaeological find and now I get to document it.
