I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!

I was expecting a few bucks, but was pleasantly surprised to see I had built up a $100 dividend! DADDY GOT NEW BOOTS! $125, deduct the 20% for one single item...made them $100, applied my dividend and viola...FREE BOOTS!

OMG! I just went down to REI for a short mid-morning "meeting". The check-out line extended to just short of the rental counter at the far end of the store! Luckily, all the registers were open so it only took about 10 minutes to get through. Big crowd for the sale though...

Just about identical to mine =) $135 pair of Lowa's, minus 20%, minus $107 dividend = ~$1.50 pair of boots!

PS: I know there's NO way in spent enough at REI this past year to get that dividend just on the 10% alone, so all I can say is that REI Visa card was worthwhile!

I bought a few big-ticket items last year (GPS, updated maps, a bunch of wool stuff for Mrs. big_load), so I shamefully admit to earning a hefty dividend. Mine went toward an Osprey Talon 22, which will be my in-between sized daypack and business travel overflow capacity.

REI is somewhat like the devil. Or Costco. Don't go there on payday because you will regret it in the morning.
My dividend is only $88, but I guess that means I spent over $800 at REI, and that's a little crazy. Christmas in March is awesome.
