Utah Bound

Post by RedRoxx44 »

Outta here in a day or so. Shaping up some, loosely will be headed to Capitol Reef. From there maybe an auto tour and photograph in Cathedral Valley, one of my favorite places, Temples of the Sun and Moon etc. Then if I have time swing over to the Swell, hiking in the grand gorge of Muddy Creek and up on the rim above Quandry canyon to get some of the river in the gorge shots. Then, with the free permit in hand ( I was on some ranger's most wanted list a few years back for blowing off the permit), I'll spend a few days in the incredible Hall Creek Narrows. Maybe hike Sheets Gulch, I've been in Burro and Cottonwood. Swing over to Dark Canyon and Sundance, a couple of day there for a revisit and try to get above the waterfall into Youngs and below in Lean To etc toward Lake Powell. The Cedar Mesa BP I had planned will probably be put on hold till another time, unless the weather farther north goes south and I decide to do it--- East Slickhorn or Point of Call canyon down to the mine road above the San juan , up Slickhorn main then out a side canyon, perhaps Trail canyon, then walk back to car.
So, there you have it a ton of driving and hiking in some world class vistas. Posting this here because I am solo, and one time Brian told someone I was in Montana when I was in Wyoming. Can't count on him to come get me----not that I would anyway. ;)

Sounds fun. When do you return? If you are wanting us to keep track, maybe you should give a date you will post again?

Don't know if the "little early" is a good or bad thing. Anyway, Thx for letting us know. And as usual, we look forward to hearing about it and of course, seeing the photos.
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
