New to the hiking scene. Found this site a few months ago and have been browsing. Thank you for all the helpful information.
I have a question about the trail.
I found the horse trailer lot and followed the directions provided. However, I am thinking I didn't walk/hike far enough. Can anyone help me determine that?
I never found the pipe that directions said. I made it to the clearing where there was a fire ring for camping, and walked maybe another 30 yards or some from there. Did I miss something?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Hackberry Springs @ Superstition Mtn
The spring was across the stream below the cliff face from the fire ring. Backtrack to the crossing and look to the east for a faint trail leading up to the spring. Close only counts in horse shoes not in hiking the Superstitions.

If you came from the first parking lot and arrived at the fire ring among the hackberry trees, on your left is a short ridge. Behind you is a large cliff face, head across the wash and you should find the spring.

Thank you for the replies. I will have to go back and look again. From what you are describing, I was there... Is there water in the spring year round? There wasn't any water (standing or moving) on the way there.

Re: Hackberry Springs @ Superstition Mtn
The stream is normally dry and the water from the spring has a very slow flow. Often the flow from the pipe disappers into the ground before it even reachs the stream bottom.
Do not trust the spring as a clean source of water.
