In stead of sobbing like a baby becuase snow has destroyed my plans to scramble Lavender Peak in CO, I'm bucking up and doing Black Mesa. I will schedule this for Sunday the 9th, start time to be determined. It is a long drive from pretty much anywhere, so early will not be the word of the day. We can meet at my house, since there is no other really convenient place to meet, and they might be jammed with tourists.
I would like to make the Mesa Summit (GPS tracks anyone?) and then explore the top a bit more. I want to go inspect the ponderosa pines I saw in the distance the last time I was up.
I figure, this is a 3 day weekend for many, so it is a best bet, and it is October, so weather will probably only get worse for the remainder of the year.
