Hello Everyone ;]

Post by ellehcim »

My name is Mike and although I have lived in AZ before, I am just recently back and getting into hiking bigtime ;]

I have relocated in east Mesa at the moment around I60 and Ellsworth. I am a fairly novice hiker but have been on backpacks such as a 2man 4day/3night backcountry trip through the grandcanyon and solo 22 mile hikes at south mountain in the past.

In month that I have been in AZ I have been hiking south mountain park, Tonto national forest- superstition wilderness areas, and the squaw peak/dreamy draw trail network. A dayhike of my ability right now would consist of about 9-15 miles.

I am looking for hiking buddies and suggestions of trails in the general area right now.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or such, it will take me time to acclimate here but you will probably see me around. TIA for any replies to this thread.

Hi Mike, Welcome to HAZ and back to Arizona!
You're in the right forum, so keep an eye here and on the "HAZ - Group" forum. There are various opportunities to join group hikes nearly every weekend.

Yet another anogram master....

Michelle was an old girlfriend and the reverse name has stuck for a long time ;] Once you get a name you like it is hard/stupid to change ;]

Thanks for my pseudo baptism in this forum for figuring it out :P After one of you hike with me I think the truth will be self evident ;]

You aren't far from me, I am on Crismon/Broadway. As others have said, you have come to the right forum, just keep your eye open. There is usually a hike going on every weekend. Welcome!
