Sedona Friday Feb 10
I'm flying out of Flag on the 11th and figure I'll stay in either Sedona or Flag to cut down on travel that morning. No sense in not doing a hike in Sedona if I'm there. I was thinking of Capitol Butte. Haven't done that in a while. This would be a PM event, as I need to drive almost 4 hours to get there.

Re: Sedona Friday Feb 10
As long as it's non-technical (I don't have any gear) and you think we could get started around noonish, I'm there! I love this sort of hike!!!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

I think it's easy, no gear required. noon, maybe 1ish. Any chance you have a RR Pass or Parks Pass?

No, but I'll get a pass on the way up and pick you up at the Hotel, how's that? That'll save you some time. And I love the pics! I was sold right away! Ok, I'm definitely in! Just don't make me try to come down that in the dark!!!! If you do, you're buying dinner!!!!

Oh, even if you started at 2, it would be light out. It only takes 4 hours.

Jim, per the new Red Rock Pass area, you don't need one to park for either side of Capitol...did you see the new map: http://www.redrockcountry.org/maps/map- ... -large.jpg (no RRP needed for Long Canyon, Cookstove, Harding Springs, Telephone, or Thomas Point either).

@hippiepunkpirate
Is that already in effect? I thought that was still being debated....

Count me in guys. I failed in my attempt last year due to poor route finding skills. May Jim lead the way.

Re: Sedona Friday Feb 10
OK, just plan for me to start in mid-afternoon start time. Remember, I work to Midnight Thursday, have to pack, and it takes 3 1/2 hours to get to Sedona. Plus, I'll need to eat lunch. I do not know if I will stay in Sedona or Flagstaff.

It will take me roughly 2 Hours to get to Sedona, so call me when you leave Kayenta.

Staying in FLagstaff at Little America. I fly out the next day and have a layover for 3 hours in PHX, if anyone wants to get lunch. Otherwise, I'll hang out on the roof of a parking garage and enjoy warm weather for a change.

Nice showing guys. Good to see you got to the top. I've been sick since Thursday night, so no fun hikes for me.

Sorry to hear that Jim. We missed you. You would have hated my pace, but we still had a lot of fun....
