"nuther One
March 26 - 28; and March 30 - Superstition Wilderness
The Forest Service seeks help with serious trail maintenance efforts in the Superstition Wilderness. Paid crews will be spending several weeks on the AZT north and south of Reavis Ranch and volunteers to augment these efforts would be a big help. The objective is to repair the seriously eroded trail between Pine Creek and Reavis Ranch.
The project begins Monday, March 26. Volunteers and FS staff will work March 26-28; the SCC crew will start March 26 and will work an 11-day hitch. Experienced, self-sufficient volunteers are welcome to stay as long as wish. The project will stage from the Campaign TH near the Reavis Mtn School, hike ~4 miles into the AZT, and work from there south. Camp will be at Pine Creek. Another volunteer effort is scheduled for the same area from Friday, March 30 to April 1.
For more information and to sign up, contact the Mesa Ranger District Volunteer Coordinator, Don Dixon, at 480-610-3336 or at jddixon"at"fs.fed.us.
