I am sorry if I put this in the wrong place, please move it, if I messed up.
My father recently retired and moved out here to AZ. He enjoys the area and the wild west history that goes with it. A bunch of years back he would have joined me on my wanders out in the supes. Unfortunately he isn't the spring chicken that he used to be.
I was looking into horseback trips to see if anyone offered overnight/day trips out there and found this.

Thought it might be a good idea. Has anyone ever used them or bumped into them while they were out and about? Can anyone suggest any other outfits that do this sort of thing?
Pops get excited to hear about my experiences and looks forward to the pics. Just a day or possibly an overnight.
Thanks
Scott

Re: Horseback Trips in the Superstitions.
I have been wanting to do the same thing (it's on my bucket list, and I love horseback riding) and recently I researched trips into the Gila Wilderness in New Mexico. I notice that what you posted is a bit more expensive per day than the trips I have been looking at, which are 5 day trips at $185 per day (including the night), including food, etc. http://www.utrail.com/wilderness.html
But if cost isn't a big consideration then maybe that company you found is fine. Are there other companies that provide the same service? Perhaps also find a reviewers page. You could also maybe ask the Forest Service for a list of licensed guides. I did a google of it myself, and came up with only the OK Corral one as well. Surprising there aren't more outfitters.

Re: Horseback Trips in the Superstitions.
There is a small ranch just south of Apache Trail before the turnoff to the north trailhead to Reavis Ranch. If it is still in operation I would check with them first as they have a horse trail that they use to connect to the trail to Reavis. I.E. no horse transport or great distance to ride before actually entering the wilderness.
I rode in with them once years ago and had a good time but I do not remember the cost. I do not remember the name of this dude ranch but it may have changed name a time or two since then. Search Google for Apache Lake Ranch for starters.

I did a search and found this, very expensive, and not overnight: http://www.saguarolaketrailrides.com/
$125 for four hours? Sheesh.

When I was Rxing this for a friend I found this company. I love the music on the website too! They even have a movie. You drive by their place on Peralta Road.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

Re: Horseback Trips in the Superstitions.
Awesome. Thanks so much for the info.
I am shooting for after the summer so I have time. I will keep this updated as I find more. It's seems like there is a bit of interest.
