Overdue
Had a coworker spent the night out while on a day hike, in Gila County. Realized he would not make it back before dark so he stayed put. Coworker network was advised and fetched him before sunrise.

Staying put is smart but it only works if you tell somebody where you are going and when you will be back!

Telling someone where you are going and when you will be back is always important, but not staying put when one should have is one of the major reasons for causing more problems for yourself..
