Saturday February 9th
Carpool and/or meet at Cottonwood Camp at 5am (earlier if I can sucker y'all into it!)
We're gonna tackle this as a day hike, 9 miles out another 9 back, obviously.
If you haven't done this hike before or are not familiar with it, please do a bit of research.
There is no trail, which means its 18 miles of beastly bushwhacking through saguaro and cholla and every other type of sharp, pointy, defensive succulent you can possibly imagine.
The first few miles after leaving the dirt road are up then down and up again, over and over and over, through the aforementioned forest of pokey, spiney, blood thirsty cacti.
There can also be some fun scrambles up and over big boudlers down near Hell's Hip Pocket depending which route we decide to "follow"/make up.
I guess I'm saying this isn't easy. If you're not a stronger hiker please don't attempt this (yet!) it's going to be fast paced and just a bit intense.
So...other than my request that you be able to take care of yourself and keep a quick pace, anyone is welcome to come along on this silly adventure of mine
