Moving to Casa Grande / Phoenix / Kayenta / Anywhere
Well, I guess I'll have to change my screen name soon. My wife and I are going to be moving to Casa Grande before the end of the year. Listing the house for sale up in Page. No job yet, kinda scary, but my wife needs to go back to school full time. Even commuting to and from UofA, with the house prices in CG we'll save money over moving to El Pueblo. Big change - this will be my first time living off The Plateau since '99. Eeek!

@coanbru
The corvair stayed at the house in Az. and is for sale cheap if you know anyone? BTW...I pass The Eagles' Nest Wellness Center everyday. You got some side business going to fund your hiking endeavors?
@SpiderLegs
It is pretty nice area if the edge network allowed it I just took a pic and uploaded the view from the bedroom slider.
@johnlp
Thanks! It's a good sign when after her first day. She walks through the door and says "I even like the commute. It's the most scenic commute ever." This may wear off on snow days.
She has already decided she really likes driving my truck.
Thanks Jake!

When I lived in a small town my commute was a three minute walk. One minute if I ran.

I'm moving too, while we're at it. Some day. For sale sign will go up pretty soon, I think.

Re: Moving to Casa Grande/Phoenix/Kayenta/Anywhere
No, I want to get an RV and move around. California first, though. I have family there, and will probably spend fall and winter there.. Back to Arizona, I'd probably switch around from Tucson, Flag and Cottonwood or Camp Verde. We'll see. It's all a dream just now.
Definitely not Alamogordo. My dad was born there, and my niece lives in Las Cruces, but I don't particularly want to live in New Mexico.
Edit: Somewhere with a little bit better job market, nearer my friends and good hiking. So, central Arizona (Verde Valley), Tucson, or Flagstaff. Probably not the Valley of the Sun--too big. But, I may stay in California. One never knows. I'm going out there to help a family member during fall-winter.

Hmmm, might be one more excuse to go up there this Summer.....

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

Re: Moving to Casa Grande/Phoenix/Kayenta/Anywhere
The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum was looking for people for jobs in the Outback of Queensland at Winton. They are discovering dinosaurs right and left. Was posted on my FB wall but don't see the jobs on their website...Rob del Desierto wrote:Paleontology work - digging old bones, helping others dig old bones, mapping, education, etc.

probably because you pay $3300 to part of a 13-member team for a 7-day experience ex Winton; 5-6 days dinosaur digging; 6 nights on site.Dschur wrote:don't see the jobs on their website...
