@BEEBEE According to the article, there will be another one before that...
Remarkably Ison might not be the only spectacular comet visible next year. Another comet, called 2014 L4 (PanSTARRS), was discovered last year and in March and April it could also be a magnificent object in the evening sky. 2013 could be the year of the great comets.

Looked last night and got nothing. My wife got home from the hospital tonight so I was too busy getting stuff set up to go out into the desert and look. There'd probably be a pretty good picture from Horseshoe Bend of this comet, I'd suspect.

We have pictures of it from Sunday night... you have to look in binos is hard to see naked eye right now... is just to the left of where the sun sets just after it sets... will be near a cresent moon tonight.

how about an astronomy label so we don't have to keep labeling things out there meteorology :?

I saw it, it was about a hands width almost directly below the Moon. take a look, you don't have much time left tonight.
