Got an email from Blue Ridge Ranger Station today:
Right now we have opened FR211/82 going to Long Lake only, FR95 going to the bridge at East Clear Creek only, and FR751 going only to Blue Ridge Reservoir, NO SIDE ROADS ARE OPEN AT THIS TIME.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I'm even surprised that FR95 from Hwy87 to the bridge at East Clear Creek is now open. Sounds like your contacts at the Ranger Station have the best updates vrs the F/S website.
Today we opened the following roads: FR300 from Hwy 87 to the Apache Sitgreaves border (access from the Coconino side on FR300 to A-S is not possible at this time), FR141 (but not FR141H), FR147, FR149, FR144, FR142, FR616, FR81, FR229 and FR305.
Previously we opened FR 95 ONLY to East Clear Creek, FR 95 and FR 96 on the other side of the creek have barricades in place, there is still lots of snow out on the rim; FR 211 from Highway 87 and FR 82 is open ONLY to Long Lake; FR 751 is open to Blue Ridge Reservoir.
ALL side roads from these roads are still CLOSED!

Snow and Mud Make Roads Impassible
04/11/2011
The Mogollon Rim received over a foot of snow this past weekend and some roads that had been opened have become hazardous and impassible. For public safety and to prevent road damage, we request that people stay on pavement and graveled roads that are not muddy.
I called the Mogollon Rim District this morning and they told me that 300 is now completely open from 87 to 260. They also said that they have opened up all the roads. Though if anyone has specific plans, you may want to double check-- it seems a little early to have everything open.
All forest roads on the Mogollon Rim Ranger District have been opened. There is one area along the Rim Road, Forest Road 300 and Baker Butte Lookout that still has some snow on it, so if you are planning to go that way please be careful. Be prepared to possibly encounter muddy conditions and please stay on existing roadways. High clearance vehicles are recommended.
In an email received from the Blue Ridge Ranger's office, all the rim-area roads remain closed and are anticipated to begin opening in a few weeks. There is still snow on many roads.
In good news, Blue Ridge (CC Cragin) Reservoir is at 102% and water is flowing over the spillway and down East Clear Creek.

Lifeis not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming,"Wow What a Ride!"
MOST of the roads on the Mogollon Rim Ranger District have been opened. All roads along Highway 260, Forest Highway 3 (Lake Mary Road), and the roads on the west of Highway 87 have been opened. Roads leading out to Forest Road 300 (Rim Road) are still closed. These roads have numerous trees that have come down over the winter, and need to be removed. Right now we are short on personnel to assist in the removal of the trees, but next week some of our seasonal employees are scheduled to return and we will concentrate our efforts on tree removal. There are also some large boulders that have fallen on Forest Road 95, these need to be pushed off the road. There is a possibility that we may be able to open FR95 just down to the creek by the end of this week. If you are traveling any of the open roads and encounter a tree across the road, please do not drive around it, but notify us as to where the tree is located so we can remove it. Thanks for your assistance and happy spring!

This last weekend they were all closed up on the Rim must have started opening them up after Sunday when I came thru.. There is still lots of water in the forest up there and roads didn't look that ready to open...

Have a camping trip (popup) in less than two weeks along the Mogollon Rim. Not sure at this point if on top or just below. Right now it depends if the roads are open on top and or the bears behave below.

I haven't seen any real recent postings about the Rim Roads....I'm assuming by now they're open???

My captain will find out, he left today for the 300 Road accessing from AZ 87 North of Pine. I am leaving next week for the Black Mesa Ranger District area.
