Missing Hiker (William C Davidson) last seen at Montezuma Pass March 5th

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance in locating a subject who was dropped in Montezuma Pass on March 5th and has not been seen or heard from since. His name is William C Davidson, he goes by Chris and he is 22 years old. His family said that he has a silver or grey backpack. They also said that as far as they knew he did not make any arraignment for re-supply and I confirmed with the Patagonia Post Office that he did not get or send anything. If you have any info on Chris contact the dispatch center at (520) 432-9501.

Hello. We dropped off a hiker at the Coronado Memorial Visitor Center to begin his planned 2 month hike along the Arizona Trail on March 7, 2013. He has not been seen or heard from since. His Mom is calling for William D. Wearing tan shorts, green t-shirt, boots and poles, hat...typical hiker appearance and gear. Bearded, dark hair, early 20's. Planning on loosing 20 lbs and getting back in shape. He is from Mesa/Phoenix area. Mesa Police and Cochise County Sheriff/BP are following up on a missing persons report from his Mom. She is worried. PHONE HOME! or BOL...be on the lookout. Text message transmissions from Sonoita/Patagonia towers last Friday. No mail drops planned for Patagonia. He should probably be headed northbound toward Colossal Cave/Oracle. No cell phone activity since 3/7.

I know a guy who just started his AZT thru hike a couple days ago. I'm not sure if I can get word to him to keep an eye out but I'll try through our mutual friend.

I imagine the BP, if involved, would want to know more about his boots, specifically the brand and model, for tracking purposes. That same info would be valuable for other thru-hikers to have, as well, especially early in the season when the trail is relatively free of fresh human tracks in many places. Thru-hikers could conceivably rule him in or out fairly quickly, with respect to his presence ahead of them along the trail corridor.

Hi. This is Cris' dad. We know he was in Tuscon on 3/22 since he mailed me some items that he no longer needed. Sadly he included his cell phone. I assumed that he resupplied while in Tuscon and is back on the trail. We hope once he hits the Superior area that he will take a break from the tail and return home. If you run into Cris please post his location when you can. I want to thank everyone who has made the effort to locate Cris and enjoy your time on the trail.

FYI-
Cris had logged in on the Saguaro NP trail register located @ the North Park boundary on the AZT.
He did not date his entry. The pervious line was dated 18.Mar.2013; the entry following Cris’ was dated 20.Mar.2013. I made this observation on 31.Mar.2013, NOBO on the AZT

These dates would fit w/ the “3/22 Tucson” date
