Signature Tucson Hike ...

Post by paulshikleejr »

In Phoenix, among many worthy candidates, I'd consider Camelback (Echo Canyon or Cholla) and Piestewa Peak to be Phoenix's "signature" hikes--well known, (usually) easily accessible, not too long, somewhat challenging.

Is there such a hike or hikes in Tucson proper (or very close in)?

I have a meeting in Tucson this THU at Broadway and Craycroft that might break-up around 5:00 p.m.

I can get to the top of Camelback and Piestewa Peak in less than an hour (not stellar, but I'm working on it).

Hunter Trail, Seven Falls, Ash Creek, Romero Canyon Trail don't seem to fit because they are either too long, too far away, too difficult.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

it seemed to read as 32.358369 -110.886807... if the point was flagged correctly. It is hard to miss. You cross a small meadow, turning back to your right, then climb up to the saddle. The main trail cuts left... the side trail takes off to the right. 100yds or so and you are at the saddle...

Isn't the signature Tucson hike any trail that heads away from Tucson?
