Congratulatory Hike!

Post by TattooedNomad »

So, I took the plunge and decided it's time to make a life change. I figure I owe it to myself to take a congratulatory hike.

I would love for it to be within 2-3 hours driving distance of home base (SE Valley area), dog friendly and maybe even a waterfall?

Since it's dog friendly, I can't have too much in the way of climbing (he loves it, but he's prettier than he smart...and he is notorious for getting his little legs stuck between rocks)

Any one want to throw down the kindling to start this fire? I wish I could make it a camping trip, but I have obligations every weekend that won't allow for it. But, I'm completely open to anyone who wants to meet up and have a fun hike join up!

Let's do this!

Fossil Creek is another good one with some awesome swimming and Waterfalls. You can go in from the Camp Verde side for a short easier hike, http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=16880 or get a workout on the way out going in on the Strawberry side... http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=183 Your Dog would do fine on either Trail.... :)

West Fork of oak creek is also a really nice hike there isn't a water fall but after the first 3 miles you walk in the creek . if you go to fossil get an early start cause it is a very popular swimming hole and finding a place to park and be an issue

Have I told you guys and gals how wonderful you are? Because you are! :)

Thank you!!!

I think I'm going to give Waterfall Trail a try. Sunday maybe? This Sunday? Anyone else want to go? If that doesn't work for you, then let me know what weekend does! I have mostly Saturdays available except for this weekend.
