Sad news.

Sunday’s 109-degree heat contributed to the death of a 21-year-old man who collapsed while hiking with friends in the White Tank Mountains west of Phoenix, authorities said.

This hits close to home. My first genuine hike was on those trails during summer. I drank through my gallon of fluids and was still dehydrated with more than a mile to go. What a long, worrisome mile. Weird to think of the similarities - just a little warmer today, and they were just a bit further from the car. My thoughts go out to this kid's family and friends.
