This hits close to home. My first genuine hike was on those trails during summer. I drank through my gallon of fluids and was still dehydrated with more than a mile to go. What a long, worrisome mile. Weird to think of the similarities - just a little warmer today, and they were just a bit further from the car. My thoughts go out to this kid's family and friends.
