Post fire aerial photographs
Hey everyone. I'm trying to find post fire aerial photographs on some area's that I loved hiking but have recently burned. First and foremost is the Gila Wilderness in NM. I've done searches on the web but mostly what I get are satellite images that don't give the detail that I'm looking for. The Gila N.F. has a Flicker(?) page that has many pictures of the types of photographs that I'm looking for but don't give the locations, I know they are of the western portion of the wilderness but it looks so different know. The pictures are depressing (remember Mt. St. Helens and the Willow fire in the Mazatzals) but I'm looking for post Miller fire photo's. Any leads would be appreciated.

Re: Post fire aerial photographs
Why not just take a "post" photo aerial tour (history to latest satellite views) via Google Earth?whereveriroam wrote: I'm trying to find post fire aerial photographs on some area's that I loved hiking but have recently burned.

If you go hike that area, you should post some images of the area today. I have a similar thread asking for that.

I noticed Google has post-Sunflower imagery on Maps and on Google Earth.

Thanks Grasshopper. I had heard that Google didn't update unpopulated areas often but if that's true then not in this case. I can tell that the image is from this past winter because of the snow on the ground. The snow really let's you see how destructive this fire was. Maybe I'll put together an album of what was from my many trips so others can see what was lost.
