I am hoping to get out this weekend and hike some. I have mostly done day trips, but want to get into some longer trips and overnighters. I don't have all the gear yet - but enough for an introductory trip.
I am looking for something about 8 miles each way - or a round trip with a total about 16 miles. I will probably try to get an early start Saturday - so something within a couple hours from Tempe would be ideal.
I thought about doing the LeBarge Canyon through to Peralta but want some other opinions.
As usual - thanks for you input everyone.
Bryan
Recommendation for a 1 nighter.

Fossil Springs is always a nice short overnighter also..........about 10 miles round trip...Take the beeline highway to Payson, keep going to Strawberry, take a left at the Strawberry Lodge.....the trail head parking area is well marked and is about 12 miles down the dirt road.....a very nice area to hike this time of year
