The Tonto National Forest is reporting a lightning caused fire near Four Peaks, northeast of the Valley. Forest official David Albo says the Reno Fire is burning east of SR 87 and south of Mount Ord. Albo said the fire had charred eight acres at this time. Officials say there have been reports additional fires burning on the southeast side of Four Peaks. Albo said air crews will conduct a reconnaissance mission in the morning to see if there's anything that requires a response.

"I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There's a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts."

Fire on 4 peaks
Noticed smoke up near the TH to the peaks on the way home from work. Hopefully the incoming storms do more good than harm

Re: Reno fire
I saw the smoke all day from work in Fountain Hills, but later in the day jogging on the canal in Mesa I couldn't spot any more. Hopefully it's under control.
