Egypt Fire Closure - West Clear Creek

Per Coconino National Forest Service and per us, who drove all the way up to WCC today to do Shamrock Canyon...Forget about WCC for awhile...About 90% of it is now closed due to the Egypt Fire and may remain that way until October 1st....

FR 142F just happens to be the Southwest Border of the Closure, so no Shamrock today, with no alternatives in the WCC area either...So we did something else.... ;)

I feel bad, I was going to post something about this fire closure but I had noticed the closure notice was on the Coconino news column on the left of the forum page If I knew it would save someone a trip I would have posted.

Good, hopefully it all burns, and well. It might not survive the coming tropical deluge, but maybe they'll "ignite the perimeter" and get it going again.

I saw your Photoset and it didn't even sink in... Partly because I didn't take the time to look at the Map or figure out where Pivot Rock was....It was our fault for not checking or "noticing" these things! It worked out ok, we went further South, even with the weather threatening and it actually turned into a gorgeous day down where we were... Thanks for posting the Photos in your Photoset...If I had really been paying attention, we could have saved some gas, but it turned out to be a very interesting "Scenic Drive" anyway...Especially when the Driver today decided to play in the mud....
