I-17 intermittent closures November 2013

From the Arizona Daily Sun
Arizona Daily Sun
Overnight closures on I-17 for blasting work continues this week

Interstate 17 south of Camp Verde will be closed intermittently during early morning hours this week so crews can do blasting work.

According to information from the Arizona Department of Transportation, the closures will allow crews to perform the blasting safely.

Each night from Monday through Thursday, the highway will be closed for up to an hour three times during the night -- 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., 1 to 2 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 a.m.

Northbound traffic will be stopped at State Route 169. Southbound traffic will be stopped at Gen. Crook Trail.

In addition to the full closures, drivers can expect single-lane restrictions in both directions from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Friday morning. Bicyclists are not permitted through the project work zone because the shoulders on the roadway are closed.

For more information, call the ADOT project hotline at (855) 712-8530, or visit http://www.az511.gov, or call 5-1-1.
