Highest Elevation For Rattlesnake Sighting
Saw this question pop up on another outdoor forum I frequent for climbers up in Idaho. About 5-6,000 feet was the consensus as to the cut off point for running into a rattlesnake up north. What is the highest that anyone has seen a rattler here in Arizona? Pretty sure I saw one at 8000+ feet on Mt Wrightson earlier this year.

Re: Highest Elevation For Rattlesnake Sighting
Arizona Black Rattlesnakes are known to reside above 9,000 feet.
My highest sighting was almost at the top of Brown's Brother, at over 7,500 feet.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I've seen that small, unique-to-the Chiricahuas species of rattlesnake at Rustler Park. I believe that is 8500 feet.

I've also seen a Western Diamondback at 5,000 feet angrily defending his personal space on a 50-degree January 14th in the Dragoons, so don't think that they hibernate all winter either!

About 7 kfeet for me, but I miss a lot of the snakiest weather. The coldest I've been buzzed at was an air temperature of 26F early on a late November morning.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

100 feet. He was being carried aloft by a big hawk and boy was he mad!

A man's body may grow old, but inside his spirit can still be as young and restless as ever.

@friendofThundergod
I figured you were talking about the movie until I realized it's not too far fetched for you to have actually experienced that!

Really who cares? What I want to know what is the highest elevation for a Chupacabra sight? Personally 2,500 or so feet and I forgot my camera.
